Health & Safety Advisor Health & Safety Advisor Spennymoor, UK SpotLIGHT of the job Tridonic is the Zumtobel Group’s technology provider, at the forefront of the lighting controls industry. We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to work in our Spennymoor manufacturing plant to protect employees, contractors, visitors, and the business by ensuring a safe, healthy, and legally compliant working environment across all factory operations. Responsibilities Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of site Risk & COSHH Assessments, H&S policies and procedures in compliance with current UK legislation and industry best practice. Drive an open culture, ensuring focus on pro-active measures such as hazard spots, safety walks, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards across the site. Ensure that existing certifications and standards are maintained for ISO 45001. Manage the H&S meetings on a monthly basis involving all interested parties within the organisation. Assist in the site’s audit cycle and carry out management system audits and inspections. Manage a programme of corrective/preventative actions for continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards in technical competence and safe working practices are met. Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, produce detailed reporting in line with the organisations Global Operation Incident Near Miss” system, identify root cause and make recommendations / implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure any reportable injuries or incidents are reported to the appropriate authorities (for example, under RIDDOR to the HSE). Work in conjunction with Tridonic colleagues on HSE initiatives and compliance reporting. Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety documentation, and training compliance. Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health & Safety legislation and ensure the business has the systems, policies and practices in place to meet legal compliance. Assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of building infrastructure, equipment, and systems and ensure facilities meet operational requirements. Assist in engaging and working with contractors and suppliers for maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements. Skills & Experience You have the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems and the ISO certification process. Previous experience working within a HSE role within the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. Able to influence outcomes and engage colleagues at all levels. Ability to manage relationships with external contractors, including tendering for services, negotiating contracts, approving RAMS, issuing permits to work and the supervision of work. Effective organisational and time management skills. Able to manage multiple projects with competing priorities to deliver the best outcomes. Lead projects and work as part of a team. It would be advantageous to hold additional H&S related qualifications such as NEBOSH Level 6, IOSH or any internal or lead audit certifications.
